My husband ate a Reeses cup with a maggot in it!?

Ok on my way home I stopped at Rite-aid and hoping to drown the day in candy, I bought a bag of Reeses cups. Went home, threw them in the cookie jar and went about my business. My husband goes and gives one to my daughter and grabs a handfull (LOL) and heads to the couch. He ate two and was about to devour the third when I hear him start gagging yelling theres a !@#!#!ing maggot in it! Yeah....there was a live maggot, a whole bunch of like maggot web(?) and little black things all the wrapper that im guessing are maggot poop. I took it back to the store and the manager gave me her number and im supposed to call on monday once she "checks into who to call" She tried to take the bag but i was like naw i'll just keep that thanks. Do you think i did the right thing? Should i contact someone else? Thanks guy this is so gross!! Oh yeah and i called the hersherys after hour health line and they lay told me it wasnt a big health concern..some people eat them all the time..they are protein..ew!
