What are some easy to train dog breeds for a first time dog owner?

Golden Retrievers are great first time dogs I had one for 12 years. (was also my first dog family dog) They are so willing to please male or female doesn't matter. They are puppies for life. They are true sweet hearts.If you find a good breeder. You should never have to worry about your dog ever being aggressive toward any one or any animal for that matter maybe some playful nips but all puppies of any breed bite when rough housing or playing you just have to go OUCH! and seem hurt and they'll eventually get the message. They do require a hell of a lot of brushing due to their double undercoat so you may have to start early on that. Or you will have fur tumbling like tumble weeds through out your house. Their temperaments are unshakable (we could even give ours a gentle pat when eating can't do that with some breeds ;)) They are prone to hip problems but if you find a good breeder as previously stated. Your pups parents would be clear of that. But really when it comes down to it. Goldens are just wonderful playful and most of the time happy dogs, Who would lay down their life for you if they had to.
